A new open-source project, and repos that add themselves
Inventory API joins our open-source work, and the site now checks GitHub on its own for anything new we pin.
We added Inventory API, a Spring Boot service for tracking stock that's tested at every layer, from single functions up to real HTTP requests against a running copy. It's the same testing discipline behind our AI test framework, applied to a backend instead of a browser.
We also changed how new projects get listed here. Instead of writing each one in by hand, the site now checks our pinned GitHub repositories on its own every time it goes live, and adds anything new automatically. Nothing gets published without us still writing up what it actually does.
Why four layers of tests for a stock service? Each layer catches a different kind of mistake. Unit tests catch wrong arithmetic in the stock rules, service tests catch broken logic between parts, web slice tests catch an endpoint returning the wrong status, and end-to-end tests catch what only shows up when the app is really running. The code is on GitHub for anyone to read.
