Java and Spring Boot development services, from India

Your backlog has more Java work than your team has hours, or there is a Spring Boot service nobody wants to touch. We build and maintain Java and Spring Boot backends for teams in the US, India and worldwide: REST APIs, the services behind web and mobile apps, and the integrations that connect them to everything else. Two ways to work: a defined project with a fixed quote, or a developer working inside your team on a monthly engagement. You work directly with Rushi Prajapati, whose Java, Spring Boot and QA work in the US included Freddie Mac (through Hexaware Technologies) and TruCare at Casenet, and whose code you can read on GitHub before you decide.

The problem

Your team has more backend work than people, or a Spring Boot service that needs building, fixing or upgrading properly.

What we build

Java and Spring Boot APIs, services and integrations, as a fixed project or a developer in your team, with tests at every layer.

What you get

Code in your repository with tests alongside it, weekly written updates, and hours that overlap your morning.

A project, or a developer in your team?

A project suits work with a clear edge: a new REST API for a mobile app, a service that replaces a spreadsheet process, an integration between your system and a partner's, an upgrade of an older Spring Boot application to a current Java version. We agree the scope in writing, you get a fixed quote before work starts, and the work arrives as pull requests in your repository with tests alongside the code.

A monthly engagement suits a team that has more backend work than people. The developer joins your standups, works from your backlog and your tracker, follows your code review and branching rules, and is measured the way your own engineers are. You can start with a month and decide from there. If you are not sure which fits, the first call is for working that out.

How we test a Spring Boot service, and why it saves you weeks

Our open-source Inventory API shows the standard we hold ourselves to. It is a Spring Boot service for product stock, and it is tested at every layer: unit tests for the business rules, service-layer tests, web slice tests for each endpoint, and end-to-end tests that fire real HTTP requests at a running instance, the same way a client application would. The tests run on every push in GitHub Actions.

That is how we build for clients too. Every endpoint gets tests before it is called done, API tests check the contract the front end depends on, and the build fails loudly when something breaks. It is slower on the first day and much faster from the second week, because changes stop breaking things nobody was looking at.

The same tests are useful on their own. If you already have a Spring Boot service without enough coverage, API test automation is often the best first project: we write tests for the endpoints your clients depend on, wire them into your pipeline, and leave you with a safety net before anyone changes the code. Those tests then make every later change, ours or your team's, cheaper and calmer.

Code you can read before you hire

Hiring a developer from another country usually means trusting a profile and a short interview. Here you can read the work first. The Inventory API and the AI-augmented test automation framework (Java 17, Selenium and TestNG, with self-healing locators) are public on GitHub with their commit history, so you can see how the code is structured, how it is tested and how the commits read.

The QA and test automation work on this site comes from the same background: five years in the US on Java, Spring Boot and QA. For a backend team, that means a developer who writes the tests as part of the job rather than leaving them for someone else.

Your hours, your repos, your rules

Standard hours are IST, which overlap with US Eastern and Central mornings. We shift the schedule further for teams on the West Coast when a project needs it.

Access follows the least-privilege rule: we work in your repositories, your cloud accounts and your tools, with the access the work needs and nothing more, and we sign your NDA if you have one. Written updates go out every week, pull requests carry their reasoning, and anything that blocks the work is raised the day it happens, not at the end of the sprint.

What we will tell you we are not right for

FamingU is a small studio, and we say so up front. We are a good fit for a defined backend project or for one developer joining your team. If you need a large team on day one, round-the-clock support, or a rewrite that has to land on a fixed date with many people at once, we will tell you on the first call and, where we can, point you to the kind of company that does that well.

What is included

  • REST APIs and backend services in Java and Spring Boot
  • Integrations with payment, messaging, CRM and partner APIs
  • Database design and migrations on PostgreSQL and other relational databases
  • Tests at every layer: unit, service, web slice and end-to-end HTTP
  • API test automation for existing services
  • Upgrades of older Spring Boot applications and Java versions
  • CI pipelines on GitHub Actions

Good for

  • US and global teams that need more backend capacity
  • Startups that need an API built and tested properly
  • Businesses running an older Java application that needs care
Pricing

Pricing depends on what you need. After a short call you get a fixed quote before any work starts.

How it works

  1. Step 120-minute callYou tell us what the backend has to do and how your team works. We tell you honestly whether a project or a monthly engagement fits.
  2. Step 2Read the code or the specWith read-only access we read the existing code, or we write down the spec for a new service, and agree the first piece of work.
  3. Step 3First pull requestThe first change arrives as a pull request with tests and the reasoning written in it, usually within the first week.
  4. Step 4Weekly rhythmPull requests, a short written update every week, and standups in your morning hours.

Questions

Can you work inside our existing codebase?

Yes, that is the usual case. We start with read-only access, read the code and the tests, and follow your conventions, branching and review rules. The first change is small on purpose, so you can judge the work before trusting it with more.

Project or monthly developer: which should we choose?

A project when the work has a clear edge and a defined result, such as a new API or an upgrade, with a fixed quote. A monthly developer when the work is ongoing and comes from your backlog. Many teams start with a small project and move to monthly if it works well.

Which Java and Spring Boot versions do you work with?

Our own projects run on Java 17 and current Spring Boot. For client work we use the versions your project runs, and we also upgrade older applications to current versions, with tests in place first so the upgrade does not break behavior.

How do you handle access and security?

We work in your repositories and cloud accounts with only the access the work needs, use your secrets management rather than copying keys around, and sign your NDA if you have one. When the engagement ends, access is removed and everything stays in your accounts.

What hours do you work?

Standard hours are IST, which overlap with US Eastern and Central mornings. We shift the schedule further for teams on the West Coast when a project needs it. Written updates and pull requests cover the rest of the day, so work continues while your team is offline.
